Scripture Study Series
Each semester, Donnelly hosts a Scripture Study Series on Tuesday evenings. Sign-up is required. This series is free and open to anyone of any faith background. Donnelly College President Monsignor Stuart Swetland will lead the upcoming fall series.
Luke’s gospel is the focus of the Catholic Church’s “C” cycle of readings that we will begin with Advent this December. In this study, we will discover why many call the Gospel of St. Luke the gospel of mercy and social justice. We will also discover the beautiful witness of a first-generation Christian who brings all his tremendous insights and gifts as a physician, artist, missionary, historian, and saint to bear to describe the person, mission, and life of Jesus Christ.
Join us! This free series will be divided into ten sessions:
- September 24- Introduction to the Gospel of Luke: The Infancy Narrative (Part I)
- October 1- The Infancy Narrative (Part II): Luke 1-2
- October 8- Preparation for Jesus’ Public Ministry: Luke 3-4:13
- October 15- Jesus’ Ministry in Galilee: Luke 4:14-6
- October 22- Healing and Sending: Luke 7-9:50
